Pioneering Care Partnership
The Pioneering Care Centre is a new 'one stop shop' resource centre in Newton Aycliffe, which houses a diverse range of services and facilities under one roof.
These include:
· Services providing information, advice and support.
· Facilities for use by the local community.
· Access to courses, training and complementary therapies, including hydrotherapy.
· Specialist support services for disabled people, people with health problems and those who care for them at home.
The centre serves both the people of Sedgefield Borough and the wider population of County Durham, Darlington and beyond. No referral is necessary to use services.
The centre is managed by The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The aim of the PCP is -
To improve the health and quality of life of local people disadvantaged through caring responsibilities, disability, age or ill health and to reduce inequalities in health.

50+ Your Health Roadshows

All events run between 10.00 and 1.00pm
A partnership involving County Durham Primary Care Trust, Sedgefield Borough Council, Tees & Durham Energy Advice, Warm Front, The Pioneering Care Partnership, Age Concern Durham County, Durham Constabulary, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Brigade and Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre is to deliver another series of the popular 50+ Your Health Road Show around Sedgefield Borough.
Mainly for the over 50's, although anyone can attend, this initiative offers the opportunity to have a free health check, flu vaccine (subject to availability (for the over 65's, main carers of elderly or disabled persons and those with chronic illness) free diabetes check and access information on Healthy Eating, Medicine Management, Foot Health, Energy Advice, Home Security, Fire Safety, Gentle Exercise. Free complementary therapies and a Free Buffet Lunch will also be available at all events.
Jane Hartley - Chief Executive for the Pioneering Care Partnership said "the 50+ Your Health Roadshows initiative is not just an excellent way to raise awareness around health related topics. It also offers the older people of Sedgefield Borough the chance to have a health check whilst enjoying the many activities at each event."
